Andrea Knox is an oncology and palliative care nurse practitioner at Tennessee Oncology. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing with a minor in English Literature from Florida State University, continuing on to earn a Master's Degree in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care.
Laura Mulka has been an oncology nurse for 30 years and an oncology nurse practitioner for 15 years. She enjoys educating patients, families, and professionals and has presented at numerous local and national events. She had developed numerous programs including creating specialized oncology units, developing pain and palliative care programs, and genetic screening programs. She has experience in Quality Improvement and has lead CMG’s Hematology/Oncology Division to an elite level obtaining Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) Certification. Laura has specialty certifications as Advanced Practice Primary Care, Advanced Practice Oncology Nursing, and Advanced Practice Palliative and Hospice Care. She also has additional training in cancer genetics. She is an active member in many advanced practice nursing societies including on the panel for education and mentorship for Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Central Connecticut State University and her Master’s in Nursing – Adult Primary Nurse Practitioner degree at UConn.
Alex Ehsan, M.D is a Board-Certified Medical Oncologist with over 10 years of medical and academic experience. He received his medical degree from Universidad Central del Este – Fac de Medicina in the Dominican Republic. He completed both his residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine Texas A&M College of Medicine – Scott and White Medical Center in Texas.
Dr. Ehsan has been recognized as a Top Doctor in Texas and received a Patient’s Choice Award. He was Chief of Medicine at Texoma Medical Center and was Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at UNT Health Sciences Center at Fort Worth.
Dr. Shaib joined the cancer care team of Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P.C. (NGOC) from the Deparment of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. A board certified medical oncologist, Dr. Shaib specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies.
He holds professional memberships with American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and American Association for Cancer Research.
Dr. Shaib earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. During his residency, he was Chief Resident from 2010 to 2011. He then went on to complete his fellowship in medical oncology at Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia where he was Chief Fellow in his final year.
Dr. Shaib provides patient-centered cancer care at NGOC’s Cartersville Cancer Center and Cherokee Health Park Cancer Center.
